چکیده

In order to remain competitive, the European metal working industry aims for customer-oriented production more and more. That means, the automation of the welding activity in an environment producing customised products has potentially wide-ranging benefits for many other industries such as construction, shipbuilding, off highway vehicle, structural fabrication, military vehicles, and heavy handling equipment. Actually, smaller parts of large steel constructions are welded manually. Because of the fixation, manipulation and the necessary large production cells an automated manufacturing was impossible. Therefore, the NOMAD project was initiated within the 5th Framework Program "Growth" of the European Commission. This project aimed to develop and demonstrate an autonomous, flexible, robotic welding system capable of fabricating individually customised products as easily and quickly as large multiples.

Control of Formation of Intermetallic Compound in Dissimilar Joints Aluminum-steel

The elimination of the FexAly type phases was considered the solution to low ductility presented in aluminum-steel welded joints. Recently, the researches do not seek the suppression but the control of the thickness of these compounds. In this work, Al-Fe joints were manufactured by solid state and fusion welding, looking for controlling the formation of intermetallic comp...

Effect of Welding Parameters in the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Friction-Welded Joints of 100Cr6 Steel

In this study, high-carbon, chromium alloy steel (100Cr6) having the initial spheroidized microstructure was welded using the rotary friction welding method. The effects of process parameters such as friction time and friction force were experimentally investigated. The friction welded joints were produced of two 100Cr6 steel rods. In order to examine the microstructure and mechanical properti...

The Weldability Evaluation of Dissimilar Welds of AISI 347 Stainless Steel to ASTM A335 Low Alloy Steel by Gastungesten Arc Welding

In the present study, the Weldability and microstructure of dissimilar welds of AISI 347austenitic stainless steel to ASTM A335 low alloy steel was investigated. For this purpose, gas tungsten arc welding process and two filler metals including ERNICr-3 and ER309L were used. After welding, the microstructure of the different zones of each joint, including weld metals, heat affected zone (HAZ) 1...

Process Control of Stainless Steel Laser Welding using an Optical Spectroscopic Sensor

The in-process monitoring and real-time control of the penetration depth during laser welding is evaluated. An optical collimator collects the optical emission for measurement with a fast spectrometer. The sensor data are used to calculate the electron temperature and subsequently to determine the weld quality of overlap welds in AISI 304 stainless steel sheets performed both with CW Nd:YAG and...
